Green Salad with Honey and Curd Dressing
An exotic combination of greens, cucumber and avocado is perked up with tangy grapes.
Laced with a peppy honey-curd-mustard dressing, resulting in a tongue-tickling but heart-friendly salad.
Although avocado is high in fat, it contains good fatty acids (mono unsaturated fatty acids) that help to lower blood cholesterol.
The Vitamin C content of this recipe helps to maintain the lining of the arteries.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes.
Yield: Serves 4
Ingredients:
- ½ cup shredded lettuce
- ½ cup shredded cabbage
- 1 cup cucumber cubes
- ¼ cup finely chopped celery (ajmoda)
- 1 cup avocado cubes
- 1 cup grapes, cut into halves
To be mixed into a honey-curd dressing:
- ¾ cup low-fat curds (dahi)
- 2 tsp raw honey(preferably Sidr or Mustard)
- ¼ tsp mustard (rai) powder
- Salt to taste.
Instructions:
Combine all the salad ingredients in a deep bowl, add the honey-curd dressing and toss well. Serve immediately.
